Toddler Room

Welcome to the Modesto Junior College Child Development Center Teddy Bear "Toddler Room", a state funded program.  We utilize the West Ed Program for Infant and Toddler Caregiving (PITC) training program.  My name is Marva White.  I am the Master/Mentor Teacher of the Teddy Bear "Toddler Room".  I have an A.S. degree in Child Development;  I participate in the Mentor Teacher program; and I am CPR certified.   I love and care for children as if they are my own, doing my best to provide quality childcare for all children.

Our program practices responsive primary caregiving and continuity of care in an emotionally supportive environment, that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development of each child;  with an emphasis on individuality.  Our teachers implement an anti-bias curriculum.  Our growth and development is met through positive relationships among the adult and child, sensory based activities, developmentally age appropriate activities and working with our parents, or legal guardian/s as a team.

We are a group of 20 to 22 young toddlers.  Our ratio is 1 teacher per 4 children.  The children are divided into two large groups.  Within those groups are two smaller groups.  Some of the activities we participate in will be very messy and may stain clothes.  Our teachers recommend that you designate a few sets of clothing for child care, this will help limit the expenses of you buying clothes to replace the ones that may get stained while we are having fun in the Teddy Bear room.

Diapers are checked every 1 to 1-1/2 hours or as needed.
