Bachelor of Science in Applied Studies for Agriculture

and Modesto Junior College

 

Objectives of the program:

  1. To give each student a high level of expertise and proficiency in an area of agriculture through the completion of an agriculture major at Modesto Junior College and by the completion of appropriate complementary course work.
  2.  
  3. To give each student strong preparation for a leadership role in the area of her or his agriculture major through the completion of the Applied Studies major at California State University, Stanislaus.
  4.  
  5. To give each student strong preparation for constructive and productive professional and personal interactions with all aspects of society through the completion of a liberal arts baccalaureate degree with coursework at both Modesto Junior College and California State University, Stanislaus.
  6.  
  7. To give each student access to an Associate of Science degree in an area of Agriculture at Modesto Junior College.
  8.  
  9. To give each student access to a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Studies at California State University, Stanislaus, with optimal credit for agriculture courses at Modesto Junior College.

    Completion of the recommended courses Math 134, EnSci 108, EnSci 110, Ag-Ge 146, Ag-Ec 210, Ag-Ec 225, Ag-Ec 200 together with completion of the Agriculture Career Core, the Agriculture Science Breadth Core, the Agricultural Business Core, and the Agriculture Major Core and Core options, will complete all of the requirements for an Associate of Science in Agriculture, satisfy the prerequisites for any Agriculture concentration, five General Education CSU Transfer requirements, and all lower division prerequisites for the CSU Stanislaus Applied Studies Major.
