Ann Lowry's
professional career has successfully blended the fields of
education and interior design. With an M. A. Degree in Education
and qualified as a Certified Interior Designer in California,
she is the Department Chair and Professor of Interior Design at
Modesto Junior College in Modesto, California. She is also an
Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer with a commitment to
accessibility and universal design.
In 2007 she was the MJC faculty member chosen to receive the
Modesto Junior College Foundation Robert Cardozo Award of
Excellence.
Ann has also received numerous professional grants, including
two from the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA),
one for developing a digital database of collections of
furniture in international museums and one for a universal
design project.
Her
interior design business,
Ann Lowry Planning and Design, is a a venue that provides
opportunities for connecting students with the world of
professional design and a means of sharing her passion for
history, art and the creative process.
