Evin Sanna Olsen
received her BA from Emory University and MFA from the
University of California, San Diego. She is a TCG/NEA fellowship
recipient in set and costume design and has served as lecturer
at the University of California at Davis in the field of set
design where she designed Romeo and Juliet directed by Granada
artist-in-residence Peter Lichtenfels. Evin has designed
commercial and residential interiors in northern and central
California which include the Barking Dog Grill restaurant and
office design for Gallo Winery. She has designed sets and
costumes for many theatre productions, including, We Won't Pay!
We Won't Pay! at the American Repertory Theater at Harvard
University starring Oscar-winning actress Marisa Tomei (My
Cousin Vinny, The Slums of Beverly Hills), the West Coast
premiere of The Cryptogram and Mules at the Magic Theatre, A
Mouthful of Birds and The King Stag (directed by Andrei
Belgrader) starring Tony Shaloub (Monk) at American Conservatory
Theater, San Francisco, and Robert Woodruff's production of Skin
at the University of California, San Diego. She has designed
Women Beware Women, directed by Brian Jucha; Mistero Buffo,
directed by Fran?ois Rochaix; and The Trojan Women: A Love
Story, directed by Robert Woodruff at the A.R.T. Institute at
Harvard University. Evin also designed Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern are Dead and was a guest artist at Sonoma State
University. She has taught interior design and fashion design at
the Art Institute of California and is thrilled to be here
teaching in the Interior Design program at Modesto Junior
College. Evin is also an adjunct faculty member at the Academy
of Art University in San Francisco teaching in the fashion
program.
