The Geology and Archaeology Programs at MJC journeyed to Italy and Switzerland in July of 2007! We had the chance to see many of the famous tourist sights, but we also journeyed through some of the most stunning geology to be found anywhere in the world. Here our intrepid travelers stand on the shores of Lake Lucerne in Switzerland...

One of our most special moments was the chance to stand at the outcrop of rock where the iridium anomaly that led to a new hypothesis on the demise of the dinosaurs was first discovered. Below are instructors Susan Kerr and Garry Hayes at the site near Gubbio, Italy. Enjoy the photographs of our trip!
