Dsc00417 Abbey from Eildon Trail.jpg (25102 bytes)Melrose Abbey is one of the most beautiful ruins I have ever seen. It was built in the twelfth century, destroyed and rebuilt several times, and finally abandoned in the 1700's. It lies at the foot of the Eildon Hills.
