Weights and Measures


Introduction:   

Most countries in the world use the metric system to calculate measurements.  In the United States we use a different measurement system.  It will be important for you to familiarize yourself with the U.S. measurement system.  Most measurements on food packages and directions in cooking are based on this system.  Use the chart on measurements your teacher gave you to solve the word problems below.  You can use the calculator on this page to get the answers.  You can check your answers by clicking on the button, "See Answer."

9.  I weigh 130 pounds.  How many kilograms is that?
