The Internet has become an important tool.

Thus, it is essential to become somewhat familiar with the Internet and its possible uses for school and research.

Advise to get you started

A link is a word or group of words underlined and usually written in blue.

An URL or web address looks like this:

        http://virtual.yosemite.cc.ca.us/mkehoe             OR

        www.kehoes.net

An email address looks like this:

        mjc@kehoes.net

MJC has many computer labs with friendly people to help you. I suggest the computer lab in Room 124, Founder’s Hall, next to the resource center. They can help you surf the Internet, work on this project and set up a free email account. You’ll need an email account to complete this assignment.

Expect to spend 2-20 hours on this project depending upon your access to an Internet connection, and your skill in using the Internet.

Follow these Directions:

Visit the websites specified in the order suggested.

Write a short paragraph about what you saw, and what information you were exposed to on each website. Did you learn anything? Why or why not?

Email your paragraphs to me by 12:20pm, Wednesday 2/21/07. You can write the paragraphs in your email program or attach them to your email message. I can view your work in most PC and Mac programs, except Word Perfect.  Read your browser's help section on email attachments if needed.
