Psychology is a diverse scientific discipline that studies behavior and cognitive processes.  Psychological scientists study all aspects of behavior in animals and humans, from the molecular level to social and cultural factors. The psychology faculty at MJC find the breadth of the field one of the most interesting and alluring facets of the discipline.

We offer a wide range of psychology courses at MJC. These courses are intended to give students a broad overview of this dynamic scientific discipline.

Students can combine these courses in a number of ways in order to:

  • complete pre-requisites and lower-division requirements for a major in psychology
  • satisfy and supplement requirements for more vocationally-oriented MJC programs (i.e. Human Services)
  • complete pre-requisites for other related majors (i.e. Sociology or Anthropology)
  • supplement other majors (Biological Sciences)
  • satisfy general education requirements
  • pursue personal interests

For those of you who will study with us, we look forward to meeting you and hope you enjoy and benefit from psychology at MJC.
