A certificate program is available and is designed to provide the basic training requirements for the California State Fire Training Firefighter I certification.

The Fire Academy provides students the opportunity to meet the educational and training requirements of Firefighter I, as set by the State Fire Training; and leads to a Modesto Junior College certificate of completion, which verifies the successful completion of the educational standards for Firefighter I. The Academy does not meet the experience requirements for State Fire Training certification.
